​Uses & Benefits

​Bacterial Infections: It is a higher-strength macrolide antibiotic used to treat acute bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections (like severe bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia), acute bacterial sinusitis, and tonsillitis.

​Skin & Soft Tissue Infections: Prescribed for uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

​STIs: Effective as a single-dose or short-course regimen for specific sexually transmitted infections, primarily uncomplicated urethritis and cervicitis due to chlamydia.

​Typhoid Fever: Sometimes utilized in specific clinical scenarios as an alternative treatment for uncomplicated typhoid fever.
